ARCHITECT: recovering the knowledge that matters most, and making it transferable.
The judgment that makes an experienced practitioner valuable is usually the part they cannot easily articulate — which is why it has never become a framework, a method, a book, a course, a decision guide or a repeatable process. ARCHITECT is the standard Edney Learn uses to recover that tacit, fragmented knowledge and codify it into something explicit, structured and reusable — an asset you can teach from, publish, or build a product on.
Where ARCHITECT fits.
ARCHITECT is invoked within Stage 2, Recover — wherever a workflow has to turn tacit, fragmented or experience-based knowledge into explicit, structured, transferable assets. Its fullest Knowledge-to-IP application sits inside the AI-Augmented Consultant family; it is configured — different inputs, examples and controls — for Authors, Project Management and later verticals. Those are configurations of one canonical standard, not separately owned methods.
One clarification
So it isn't over-read: ARCHITECT is a shared standard used inside the product families — not a standalone business, a separate ladder, or a qualification.

The nine steps
ARCHITECT is an acronym. Each letter names a step.
A
Articulate
What exactly is being claimed, and what does it defend that others do not?
R
Recover
What does this practitioner actually know that has never been written down?
C
Code
What is the underlying structure, and where are its boundaries?
H
Hang
Does the argument hold together across every form it will take?
I
Instrument
What evidence supports this beyond personal assertion?
T
Transfer
What has to exist for someone else to apply this, not just understand it?
E
Edit
Is the reasoning coherent, or only the prose?
C
Certify
Would this hold up to a peer, a practitioner and a sceptic?
T
Turn
What else can this become without fragmenting?
How each step is run, what it produces and how an engagement is configured are held by Edney Learn.
Delivery range
Delivered at the intensity the knowledge requires.
ARCHITECT’s delivery ranges from a self-directed protocol to fully facilitated work. The right level is a judgment about the knowledge: self-directed where it is already fairly explicit, facilitated or coached where it is deeply tacit.
Self-directed
Approved packs and structured instructions for practitioners whose knowledge is already reasonably explicit and who want to work through recovery and codification themselves.
Facilitated
Workshops and cohorts where dialogue does the work — noticing the exception you treated as obvious, the judgment you made too quickly to register. Available within approved Author and Consultant delivery.
Coaching and specialist review
Higher-touch, one-to-one work for material that is more complex, more sensitive, or too specific for a group setting, up to founder-led recovery of deeply tacit expertise.
Configured, not forked
Whichever mode you enter, you are using the same canonical standard. Delivery mode and vertical configuration change the examples, inputs and controls; they do not change who owns and governs the method.
Intellectual property
Your knowledge does not become our product.
This needs saying plainly, because recovery involves handing over the most valuable thing you own.
What stays yours
Your knowledge, your source materials, your frameworks, your voice, your originality and every asset produced through the work. Yours during the engagement and after it.
What is ours
The ARCHITECT method itself — its questions, sequence and controls — owned and governed by Edney Learn. You are licensed to use it on your own material; you do not acquire the right to deliver it to others.
What requires your consent
Any use of your material as a product example, case study, testimonial or teaching artefact. Asked in writing, every time, with anonymisation as the default unless you say otherwise.
Origination and ownership are different things
Dr Jim Choo originated ARCHITECT; Edney Learn owns the specification, governs its versions and carries the delivery, evidence and data obligations. How the two relate → · Evidence policy →
