AI Capability Developmental Profile · Controlled Field-Test Edition

A developmental read on your AI capability, not a verdict.

The profile looks at seven common-core dimensions of AI-augmented professional practice, adds an overlay for your role, and returns three things: a baseline across the seven areas, a plain-English interpretation written for your role, and a suggested next step (including "none yet"). It is one way in, not a required first step — offered for reflection and pathway fit, not as a validated measure of competence.

Pilot / Controlled Developmental Release  Instrument version Beta · opening November 2026.

This is a design illustration of the result format only. It is not real data, not an average, and not any person's score. The instrument is not yet open.

Common core

Seven dimensions that apply to every profession.

These are the constructs that separate someone who uses AI from someone whose professional workflow is genuinely AI-augmented. They do not change by role.

  • 01
Task-selection judgmentCan I tell which parts of my work AI should touch, which it shouldn't, and say why?
  • 02
Human–AI allocationDo I divide the work deliberately between my judgment, the model and other tools, or by default?
  • 03
Verification practiceWhat do I actually check, how, and does the check happen before the output leaves me?
  • 04
Workflow integrationDoes my AI use sit inside a defined sequence with inputs, outputs and quality gates, or beside it as a habit?
  • 05
AccountabilityIs it explicit who owns the decision, the claim and the consequence?
  • 06
Evidence practiceDoes operating my workflow leave a record a client, employer or assessor could examine?
  • 07
Transfer into workDoes the capability show up in real professional output, or only in exercises?

Then a role overlay

On top of the common core, the benchmark adds constructs specific to your professional context. You choose the overlay when you begin.

Available overlays

  • PM
Project management governanceIntegration into project workflow, governance position, decision traceability. Pilot
  • AU
Author publishing readinessManuscript readiness, editorial workflow, production readiness, publishing-system maturity. Available
  • CO
Consultant Knowledge-to-IP maturityTacit-knowledge maturity, framework clarity, teachability, productisation readiness. Available
  • TM
Team workflow deploymentStandardisation, quality control and capability distribution across a team. In Development

Do not see your role? The common core still applies, and telling us which overlay you need directly influences what we build next.

Your result

A baseline, an interpretation, and a defined next step.

Individual result

  • Developmental profileA self-reported read on each of the seven core dimensions plus your chosen overlay, with the uncertainty shown, not hidden.
  • Developmental interpretationWhat that pattern suggests in practice — written for a professional and framed as reflection, not a graded quiz.
  • Suggested next stepWhich currently available entry point is the honest next step, including "none yet". Modular — nothing is forced.
  • Baseline recordA dated record you can re-run later to observe movement. Self-report, not verified capability.

Organisational result

  • Aggregated capability patternWhere the team is strong, where it is uneven, and where practice varies dangerously between people.
  • Risk pointsVerification, accountability and confidentiality gaps that a policy document will not fix on its own.
  • Workflow maturityWhether AI use is integrated into defined processes or sitting alongside them.
  • Deployment recommendationScoped training or workshop options matched to what the data shows. Institutional licensing is future.

The profile is a Controlled Developmental Release — not yet open. Registering lets you choose your role overlay so we prioritise the right one, and means you receive the current instrument version, purpose and data notice before any responses are collected.

Registering for the service does not enrol you in research, publication or model-training use. Those are separate, optional permissions you would grant explicitly.

What this profile is not

It is not a certification, a licence, or a statement of verified professional competence, and self-reported confidence is not competence. It is a developmental self-assessment. Assessed, verified capability would come later, through authentic-performance assessment against a future microcredential standard that is not yet available.
