This is a plain-language statement of how Edney Learn handles your data. Sections marked below are being completed with qualified review and will be updated in place. What is stated here is accurate; what is not yet stated is not yet confirmed. Questions: edneylearn@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us — name, email, organisation, role — when you register for the benchmark, apply to a cohort, enquire about a product or send us a message.
- Diagnostic responses — your answers to the AI Capability Developmental Profile (a Controlled Developmental Release) and any role overlay you complete. Edney Learn is the data controller and custodian for these.
- Programme materials — work you bring to a workshop, coaching engagement or cohort, including manuscripts, project information and consulting materials.
- Site usage data — analytics on how pages are used, tied to defined funnel events rather than to individual profiling. The analytics tool and its configuration are being confirmed; this section will be updated when they are.
Why we collect it
- To answer you, and to deliver the product or programme you asked for.
- To generate your diagnostic result and recommended pathway.
- To improve the diagnostic instrument in aggregate — patterns across many responses, not conclusions about you.
- To decide which role overlays and pathways to build next, based on demand.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not publish your individual diagnostic result.
- We do not add you to a marketing list because you asked a question or registered for a diagnostic.
- We do not use your programme materials as a product example, teaching artefact, case study or testimonial without asking you first, in writing, for that specific use.
- We do not send your diagnostic responses, free-text answers, sensitive data or individual results to advertising or general analytics tools.
Diagnostic data, research and AI training — kept separate
Taking the developmental profile is a service. Using your identifiable responses to deliver that service and to improve the instrument in aggregate is part of it. The following are separate purposes that require your specific, optional permission and are never bundled into commercial participation:
- Research inclusion — using your data in a study.
- Publication or quotation — reproducing anything you wrote.
- AI-model training — using your responses to train or fine-tune a model.
Declining any of these does not reduce the service you receive or your result. Pseudonymised research data is still treated as personal data. Where a university or research partner is involved, controller responsibilities are agreed in writing before any data is collected. The diagnostic must never be used for a hiring, grading, promotion, licensing or other consequential decision.
Your materials and your intellectual property
Work you bring to a programme remains yours. Your source materials, manuscripts, project information, client data and the workflow you build stay under your control during the engagement and after it. Nothing you produce becomes Edney Learn product intellectual property.
Where we want to use anything derived from your work publicly, two things must be recorded as true before publication is possible: your written consent for that specific use, and confirmation that publication does not disclose material you own, license from a third party, or are contractually required to keep confidential. Anonymisation is applied by default unless you ask to be named. See the evidence policy.
Confidentiality of client material
If your work involves client-confidential information, we treat that as a design constraint on the engagement, not as something to be managed by good intentions. Please do not send confidential material with an initial enquiry. We will agree how to handle it properly first.
Retention
Enquiry records, diagnostic responses, programme materials and analytics data are retained for 5 years from the date of publication. Diagnostic baselines may be retained for the full period because they are the first item in an evidence portfolio and are re-run to show movement. This retention is stated here and consented to at the point of collection.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting edneylearn@gmail.com. We will respond within 14 days. The data controller is EDNEY LEARN PLT (201904002443). A full statement of applicable data subject rights and the relevant supervisory authority will be added to this section upon completion of qualified legal review.

This site does not set non-essential cookies without your explicit consent. A full statement of which cookies are set, their purpose and duration will be added to this section. Default position: no non-essential cookies without opt-in.
