About

A capability company, and the person who teaches in public.

Edney Learn and Dr Jim Choo are deliberately separate: ideas argued openly in one place, products governed and accountable in the other. Here is what the company does, and who built it.

Edney Learn

Edney Learn is an AI-augmented professional capability company. We help professionals and organisations turn scattered AI use into workflows they own, can operate repeatedly, and can defend, through a developmental diagnostic, role-specific workflow products, applied learning and a strict evidence policy. You can work with us through a workflow pack, a live workshop, bounded coaching, or a scoped organisational pilot.

The company exists because of a specific gap. Organisations and professionals have adopted AI comprehensively and have almost nothing measurable to show for it. Not because the tools are inadequate, but because tool access was treated as the destination. What was never built was the workflow, the standards, the verification layer, the evidence and the capability that outlasts the current model.

So the company builds one architecture — diagnostic, design method, applied learning, evidence, deployment, credential — and configures it for specific professional roles. That is why an author and a project manager can be served by the same company without it becoming two businesses held together by a logo.

Dr Jim Choo

Dr Jim Choo is the founder, educator and public teaching voice of Edney Learn. Before the doctorate he spent more than twenty years in industry at Compaq, Agilent Technologies and Keysight Technologies: across electronics business development, business analysis and process re-engineering, IT project management including ERP deployment, enterprise data governance, and R&D programme management. In precision-measurement environments a specification either holds or it does not, which is where the method's insistence on standards, verification and stop conditions comes from.

He then took the question that practice could not answer — why capability develops in some conditions and not others — into research, completing a PhD in Curriculum and Pedagogy Innovation (Universiti Sains Malaysia, 2025), after an MSc in Technology Management (National University of Singapore, 2001) and a BEng in Mechanical Engineering (Universiti Sains Malaysia, 1997). He is the author of The Self-Curriculum (published by Edney Learn, May 2026) and originated the ARCHITECT standard.

A doctorate establishes research training. It does not establish that any Edney Learn product works, and it is not offered here as evidence of product effectiveness. The instrument, product data and evidence register remain owned and governed by Edney Learn.

The capabilities the company is built on are specific: curriculum and learning architecture, self-directed learning, framework codification, publishing and editorial process knowledge, professional capability development, evidence and assessment design, and long experience translating complex work into explicit systems.

Dr Jim Choo attracts, argues, teaches, researches and demonstrates. Edney Learn owns, governs, productises, delivers, evidences and scales the capability systems.

Where to find the teaching

drjimchoo.com: the main channel. Jim's own ideas: future of work, AI capability, learning, personal agency.

Book Impact: a distinct channel about learning from other authors' books and frameworks, with Jim as guide. Every artefact attributes its source and generalises rather than repackaging anyone's proprietary framework.

Brand architecture

Two things, two jobs.

Stated plainly because the boundary between a teaching channel and a company that sells products matters.

EntityRole
Edney Learn The company: methodology owner, product owner and delivery platform. Everything sold — workflow systems, programmes, licences, quality standards — sits here, governed and versioned.
Dr Jim Choo The public teaching voice: ideas and positions on the future of work, AI capability, learning and agency, argued in his own name at drjimchoo.com, linking to Edney Learn as the product and methodology platform.

Operating principles

What you can expect from us.

These are the commitments the rest of the site is built to keep. If a page breaks one, that is a defect. Tell us.

01

Status labels, always

Every product carries Available, Pilot, In Development or Future. A roadmap shown honestly is more useful than a catalogue that implies everything is ready.

02

Evidence classes stay separate

Our own use of the method never gets presented as proof of your outcome. The policy in full.

03

Your IP stays yours

Workflows you build, materials you bring and outputs you produce remain yours. Publication of anything requires written consent, every time.

04

Judgment stays human

The method allocates accountable decisions to people by design, and builds in stop conditions. Maximum automation is not the goal.

05

Specialists are respected

Editors, lawyers, designers and domain specialists are not obstacles to route around. Good workflows identify where independent review is genuinely valuable.

06

Limits are stated

Precision about what a product does not do is part of the product description, not the small print.
